New Clapton album, plus 2011 tour dates
Eric Clapton is virtually tireless in his musicianship. After a summer spent on just a smattering of live appearances and his Crossroads guitar festival, it appears he devoted his “vacation” time to the creation of a new studio album - his 20th solo effort.
Titled simply Clapton, to call this new release “solo” is somewhat of a misnomer. The album features several collaborations, including with J.J. Cale, Steve Winwood, Sheryl Crow, Wynton Marsalis, Derek Trucks and Allen Toussaint. The guests are as ecletic as the track covers, ranging from brass bands to country blues, plus a handful of originals.
The album drops September 28th, but Clapton’s tour dates don’t begin until May 2011, and then, so far, only in the U.K. If you want to pair Eric Clapton tickets with your vacation plans, check out his official website for full tour dates. Otherwise, stay tuned for announcements for what will surely be a summer run here in the U.S.
