New Eric Clapton video game uses real guitar for controller
Though Eric Clapton is gearing up for his highly anticipated Crossroads Music Festival on June 26, he’s also got something to look forward to in October: a new video game that features his music in a way that’s never been done before.
We all know that Eric Clapton is innovative. He was basically the first person to combine blues and rock while continuing with an ever-evolving style. Now, he’s continuing the trend of “cutting edge” with Power Gig: Rise of the SixString by Seven45. The game, which features Clapton songs as well as those by Kid Rock and the Dave Matthews Band, allows users to use an actual guitar to play the game.
Of course, everyone is familiar with the games predecessors–Guitar Hero and Rock Band–but Power Gig will actually teach you how to play the guitar, something that the Dave Matthews Band hopes will inspire aspiring musicians.
“We think Power Gig is a much needed and much welcomed game because, unlike any others before it, it puts a real guitar into the hands of aspiring musicians, and we hope it inspires our fans and others to start playing even when they’re not playing the game,” the group said in a statement.
